Our Capuchin Franciscans, Father Simon and Father Canice have begun their new beginnings at parishes in Victoria and Hays, Kansas, respectively. Both indicate that they have been warmly received by the Capuchin confreres at each Friary. Both are busy about getting settled in and getting acclimated to new surroundings and settings. Both have asked that I express to you their gratitude for your support and encouragement during their eighteen years here among us, and for your good wishes and great generosity as they concluded their service here. Both promise us a place in their prayers. They have been assured that they are in our prayer as well, and that we miss their good and holy presence among us.

On 9 February 2009, Father Simon will celebrate 63 years as a priest. On 11 February 2009, Father Canice will celebrate 62 years as a priest. That same day, Father Simon will observe his 88th birthday. On 19 August 2009, Father Canice observes his 89th birthday. God give them “peace and all good things” for a long time to come!
