St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church is a beautiful and historic part of the patrimony of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. It was dedicated on November 4, 1860 and has been in continuous daily use from that day.

Couples from throughout the metropolitan area celebrate their marriages here. You are welcome to inquire about the possibility of a wedding in this church. Our "Marriage Information" brochure can be downloaded from this site. It will answer all of your preliminary questions with respect to the procedures with respect to wedding scheduling, planning, preparation and celebration.

It is not necessary that either bride or groom be members of the parish. It is essential that one or both be baptized Catholics. It is also essential that all non-parishioners wishing to be married here engage a Catholic Priest or Deacon, in good standing, who agrees, in writing, to oversee the marriage preparation process, to complete all required church documentation prior to the marriage, and to be present for the wedding rehearsal as well as the ceremony.

All weddings are at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoons. All rehearsals are at 6:00 o'clock the Friday evening before. There are no exceptions.

After reviewing the "Marriage Information" brochure on this site, you are welcome to contact the parish office for further details regarding your wedding. The telephone number is: 314-421-3467. Margaret Feldmann, the parish office manager, is available Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.

Best blessings, now and for many years to come, in the new beginning you make as you
celebrate your marriage!"
